hi everyone. I'm new also. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in 1996. I had spinal fusion surgery because the arthritis had eaten away my facet joint. now its in my hips and my knees. I take osteo-biflex and over the counter pain relievers. I am not ready to take prescription meds yet because I take other meds for other health issues. glad to have somewhere to go where other people know how I am feeling.

    Hi all
I'm new here too. Diagnosed with chondro malacia patellae in both knees and early oa. Struggling with pain at the moment. Wondering how it is possible to wake up in more pain than I went to sleep with. Still between specialists trying to figure out a treatment plan. Very very frustrating. Any advice would be very gratefully received.

I just wanted to welcome you into our "family" on this site. Here we can lean on each other, support one another, offer advice, and give and receive love and caring which sometimes works better than any medicine for the pain we are all in. Hope you find a good treatment plan soon and that you are feeling much better very soon. Pain is no fun to have to deal with-I think we all could/would say a big Amen to that.

Exercise has been a great help to me-but I understand not all CAN exercise-but laying in bed seems to tighten up your body-therefore the stiffness/pain in the morning when you wake up. The more you can move around the better off your pain will be-at least it helps me to do so. I am sure many more members will answer your questions as we are a very tight community and we support one another in lots of ways.

I just wanted to add that the best thing for me as far as pain is yoga-just gentle stretching helps very much,,,,

Hi everyone, I'm new to this as well. I haven't found out what type I have because I finally threw in the white towel and surrendered to the severe pains I was having daily. I got an MRI of my lower back and it shows a lot of arthritis along with a herniated disc and now the doctors have to put their minds together. I'm glad I found this site to read about how other people cope with this and to know that I'm not alone is also very helpful. I hope to get to know everyone more.

I am so happy to have founds this, finally a group of people that can relate to my pain. And those good days and bad days. I look forward to getting to know everyone!
