Hi, I'm Lana
It has been nearly five years since I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. What I can tell you is I am not the same person that I was five years ago who awoke one day to the inability to walk or to use my hands. Since that time, I have found ways to live successfully despite arthritis, to manage my conditions and to connect with, learn from and share information with others about arthritis.
Let’s face it, living with and overcoming arthritis pain is difficult and in some instances, nearly impossible. I am neither a doctor nor a medical professional. What I am is a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Living with arthritis doesn’t mean that I am any less of those things or that I am needed any less in each of my roles. The same applies for everyone who lives with arthritis. We all have good days and bad days but what makes us exceptional is that we make a choice daily to enjoy life despite arthritis limitations.
Arthritis can be a lonely condition and support is an essential part of living despite our limitations. The best people to connect with are those who understand your everyday struggles. This is why I became involved with Arthritis Connect and I hope that you will find the friendship, support, and information that will help you to feel less alone and less frustrated about the complexities of arthritis.
Welcome, make yourself at home, and I will be here to help answer your questions.
